The $1 Million Offer

A Pledge to Sun City Anthem Homeowners

“I pledge to gift $1 million of my projected $6 million litigation proceeds, if I prevail, to a separate Sun City Anthem YAHOO entity that exists solely and exclusively for the benefit of Sun City Anthem owners and residents.”

— Nona Tobin

Why?

I've lived here since I retired 22 years ago. The people in this community are my friends and neighbors. My fight has never been against them. It has always been against the managers, agents, and attorneys who were supposed to be fiduciaries but weren't.

I know that, with rare exception, the volunteers who served on our Boards were acting in good faith and in their best judgment, but they were extremely ill-advised by people we paid a lot of money to for management, legal, and other services.

What Happened

In 2014, nearly two years after my fiancé Bruce Hansen died, our managing agent FirstService Residential dba Red Rock Financial Services secretly sold Bruce's home at 2763 White Sage Dr. for $63K to a realtor working for the broker with whom I had an exclusive right-to-sell contract — with no notice to me, my agent, or anybody in the HOA other than the Board.

There was no Board vote in an open meeting because management told the Board it would violate people's privacy.

SCA Board unwittingly approved a dozen of these sales in closed meetings with no accessible agenda or minutes.

Without even counting the loss of property value to ALL homeowners (UNLV estimated 1.7% per foreclosure), I believe I can prove at least $1 million that SCA homeowners were wrongly forced to pay because of corrupt or ignorant management and attorneys.
